Finikas Beach

Finikas is a seaside village located in southwestern Syros and includes the settlement of Vissas (population: 733). The locals are engaged mostly in flourishing agricultural activities such as poultry farming, flower growing, livestock breeding, and fresh produce farming.
Tourism in the area has been on the up and up in recent years, thanks to the area’s ideal location and the seamless tourism infrastructure and services offered by the village’s businesses catering to visitors.

It is worth noting that, with the exception of the port of Hermoupolis, Finikas is Syros’ only natural harbor. Offering boats shelter from the northern winds, this picturesque harbor is also a refueling and mooring depot for small recreational vessels, offering all weary travelers need along their voyage (water and fuel supplies, information, phone communication, Greek and international press). To the south of Finikas, there is an organized marina which caters to sailboats year round.

Finikas has a fabulous sprawling, sandy stretch with inviting crystal-clear waters. It has ample free parking space, its seawater sports promise great fun, and its scenic beachfront offers heavenly relaxation and carefree strolls. It is particularly recommended for children as its sports facilities, basketball court, and playgrounds make it a fun and safe home away from home.
